If possible, and if the wood is absorbent please apply the first coat to all sides before installation. Osmo Polyx®-Oils are developed from natural oils and waxes to provide the most hardwearing and durable protection for wooden flooring and furniture. Bare wood species with a high content of natural wood extractives need to weather off (min. 4 weeks) before the initial treatment or be cleaned with Osmo Brush Cleaner and Thinner (degreaser). Pressure-impregnated wood, Massaranduba, Bangkirai, or Garapa need to weather off for at least 3 months.
Providing a satin-matt, smooth finish, Osmo Bangkirai Wood Oilis highly water-resistant, dirt-repellent and offers easy maintenance. Untreated wood in its original form has a light, pale character from its natural ‘raw’ appearance. Sanded wood also has the same effect. Osmo Polyx®-Oil 3044 Raw is designed to retain this appearance by using a small amount of white pigments to neutralise the permanent ‘wet-look’ that develops after application of a clear finish. If greyed in the seasoning period clean with Osmo Wood reviver Gel, Wet timber Apply Gel Liberally, scrub in with Osmo cleaning brush, Leave for up to 30 minutes, Scrub the surface a second time, wash off with copious amounts of water, do not pressure wash, leave to dry 48 hours. Please note extreme seasoning may require a second application. Many wood species contain water-soluble coloured extractives ( eg Larch ) which may leach out naturally when weathered. Weathered, bare wood surfaces can be refreshed with Osmo Wood Reviver Power-gel.Recommended application: for best results apply to timber with a sawn textured face or sand surface using an orbital sander and 80 grit sandpaper.
