The Royal African Society’s annual literary festival, Africa Writes, is returning this weekend and promises to be just as inspiring and enjoyable as in previous years. Promoting the very best new writing talent from Africa and those of African descent living here in the UK, Africa Writes shines the light on excellent literature that tends to be overshadowed by the mainstream of white writers.
A fun event for all the family, the festival features discussions, readings, children’s workshops and activities and much more.
The diverse line-up of writers participating in this year’s festivals includes Kinsi Abdulleh, Tomi Adeaga, Elmi Ali, A. Igoni Barrett and Audrey Brown. Whether it is poetry, fiction or non-fiction that you love, there will be plenty of innovative and quality literature to please your mind and, with a book fair, you will have the opportunity to take your favourite works home.
Taking place at the British Library from Friday to Sunday, this is an event not to be missed!
