Jeremie Malenge, 17, was fatally stabbed
A 17-year-old female suspect will appear at Stratford Magistrates’ Court in east London today charged with the murder of teenager Jeremie Malenge, stabbed to death last Tuesday in Homerton High Street.
Police arrested the suspect on Thursday and she was charged with the murder of Mr Malenge on Sunday.
Malenge was stabbed three times in the chest and paramedics were unable to save him, pronouncing him dead at the scene of the attack.
A post-mortem examination conducted on Thursday 8 January determined that the cause of the boy’s death was a stab wound to the chest.
It has since been revealed that the Met police were in contact with Mr Malenge just hours before he was killed. An Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPPC) investigation into the exact nature of this contact with the victim is currently underway.
